STATE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RESERVE 'POLTAVA BATTLEFIELD', POLTAVA
State Historical and Cultural Reserve 'Poltava Battlefield', which has 7.2 km2 of dedicated territory, was created in 1981 on the basis of Poltava battle history museum (founded with creation of the first collection in 1909, re-opened in 1950). Both the museum and memorial complex on the field describe the battle of 27.06.1709 under Poltava, which had a severe influence on European history. The museum collection began to form since 1909, and now consists of more than six thousands of items, such as firearms, cold weaponry, art, numismatics, books and archaeological findings. It presents events of the Great Northern War from Ukrainian perspective. Nowadays, the Swedish part of the exposition is significantly expanded due to cooperation with the Swedish Military History Library (SMB).https://battle-poltava.org.ua/
