The Kyiv History Museum was established in 1978. Since then it has grown and changed its location several times. In 2024, the MIK will have 9 branches, each of which will tell the story of a different historical period in the life of the Ukrainian capital and its prominent personalities. The main museum and exhibition centre is located in the heart of the capital. It covers an area of 3,000 square metres and hosts changing historical and art exhibitions. More than 100,000 people visit the MEC every year. The team carries out extensive research and educational activities. The IIC's collections comprise 338,000 items and are constantly being added to.
