MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY, HORISHNI PLAVNI
Local History Museum of Horishni Plavni was established in 2000. Its total collection includes over 20,000 museum items.

The main exhibition (4 Cosmonauts St.) is housed in four halls and presents the history and nature of the microregion from ancient times to the present day. The key sections of the exhibition include: geology, paleontology, archaeology, regional history (17th–20th centuries), ethnography, the history of urban development, and the city’s contemporary history.

The “Russian-Ukrainian War” exhibition (40 Heroes of the Dnipro Ave.) was opened in 2023. It presents materials that explore the long-standing history of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict beginning with Ukraine’s independence and places special focus on the events of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The “Wars That Changed the World” exhibition (40 Heroes of the Dnipro Ave.) tells the story of the global wars of the 20th century and the involvement of Ukrainians in them.

The concept and main message of the museum’s new exhibitions is the preservation of the memory of war.

The museum also includes an exhibition hall (40 Heroes of the Dnipro Ave.) and branches in the villages of Dmytrivka and Soloshyne.
