Culture vs. Disinformation: Cultural Guardians Debate at Humboldt Forum
About:
On Friday, 18 September, OBMIN, together with its partners, will host a public debate at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin on Culture vs. Disinformation, focusing on the role of culture and museums in countering disinformation in the age of hybrid warfare. The event serves as the public highlight of the international Cultural Guardians exchange program.

In an era overrun by political, historical, and cultural disinformation, museums bear a vital responsibility: to remain unassailably trustworthy institutions while serving as essential arenas for civic debate. During the event, experts from Ukraine, Poland, and Germany will examine how the cultural sector can fortify social resilience against modern hybrid threats.
Program Highlights:

  • Opening Remarks & Keynote Address: Dr. Magnus Hjort (Director General of the Psychological Defence Agency)
  • Panel Discussion: “How to Build Trust? Museums in the Age of Hybrid Warfare” — featuring museum leaders and experts from Ukraine, Poland, and Germany
  • Open discussion

The debate marks the conclusion of the Ukrainian-Polish study tour to Berlin, part of the second edition of the Cultural Guardians program—an initiative dedicated to crisis management, digitization, and education for heritage professionals across Warsaw and Germany.

The Berlin debate is a public event, open to all interested participants
