About:
Conference: „Resilience. Recovery. Future: Culture in the Recovery of Ukraine“. Organised by OBMIN, 26-27.06.2025, Warsaw

Together with our partners we would like to extend an invitation to you to join our upcoming conference „Resilience. Recovery. Future: Culture in the Recovery of Ukraine“.
More than 100 experts from museums all over Ukraine plus international partners will meet in Warsaw to discuss the contribution of the cultural sector to the future of Ukraine and to prepare proposals for the next Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2025), this time in Rome, Italy on July 10-11.

So far, the governments of Ukraine, Poland and Germany grant patronage and join the conference with their representatives. In addition, we are glad to announce that France is joining as well with the patronage by the French Embassy in Warsaw, adding a ‘Weimar Triangle’ dimension. Please find a draft of the program attached. You will find updates and a registration form on our web page: www.obmin.eu

In three major parts we will work on important subjects:
  1. the importance of culture for a modern society
  2. the link between cultural heritage and national security in its different dimensions
  3. museums and new responsibilities, e. g. to provide new narratives, to fight disinformation and what, after 3 years of war and destruction, museums can do better in the future.

On Friday, June 27, we offer the opportunity to come with us to Łódź, one hour South of Warsaw, for the opening of the exhibition “In the Eye of the Storm: Modernism in Ukraine”.

Our partner, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, will provide a special tour of this unique exhibition, created by the National Art Museum of Ukraine, it was first shown at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid.

The conference will also be a great opportunity to strengthen ties with museums in Ukraine and to create new initiatives for cooperation.
